I held off on Aventus for years specifically because of the hype. When a fragrance gets that much noise around it, the reality almost never matches. I was wrong about this one and I'll admit it.
What gets me is that the pineapple note shouldn't work the way it does. On paper, a fruity opening on a "masculine powerhouse" sounds like a mall fragrance. On skin it smells like nothing else I own. The birch and smoke come in underneath it and suddenly the whole thing makes sense. It's not fruity, it's complex. The pineapple is just the hook. The dry down is what you're actually buying.
The 5ml got me quite a few solid wears in the Scottsdale heat. Enough to know how it performs in warm dry weather, and it holds up. Projection backs off after a few hours but the longevity just keeps going quietly. Seven, eight hours easy.
At this price point for a 5ml I had no reason not to try it before dropping full bottle money. I understand the Aventus price now. That's exactly what this size is for.
I've seen a few reviews on here saying this is fake Creed Aventus, but trust me when I tell you...they are WRONG! I've worn Creed for a couple of years now and this is the exact Creed Aventus that I always wear and I constantly receive compliments on it. The best part is that there aren't many guys who wear it and that makes it a unique scent to people I want to smell good for. Yes, even at this price, it is an expensive cologne. However, it's expensive because it's worth it. Period!
Honestly, I ordered several different scents. None of them met my expectations. They were all too alcoholic smelling or smelt like an 80 year old man. My wife and all 3 of my daughters said they were horrible smelling. I’m just really disappointed.

I wanted to see if these were legit, so I bought a 10ML Decant of Aventus. I took it with me to Neiman Marcus (had to get my girl something she has been eying for awhile). I tried them both side by side. One on the back of my left hand, and the other on the right. These are 100% LEGIT.

Smells great but fragrance does not last long on the body for the price
Smells amazing. I have doubts about its authenticity seeing as how the smell doesnt last as long as a previous store bought one. 3-4 sprays last about 30 min without having to reach and sniff directly from clothes and 1 hour or so without much activity. Dillards creed aventus would last about 3 with similar activity and can still smell a bit of it after a wash. Recommend buying from store.
Smells great but has no staying power, I love smelling my cologne on me whether I'm at work or the gym. Spraying several shots on me I could no longer even smell it an hour later, not worth the 500 dollars it costs!

I decided to treat myself to a different cologne, and I had read so many good things about this scent. Well, it is a nice scent, but not what I excepted. It smells pretty much like Mont Blanc Explore. It also does not last all day, and that is 3-4 sprays around my body. I was not to impressed especially with the price, since most colognes that I purchase are a third of what this cost. I recommend you go to one of the department stores and try out a sample, before dropping $400.00.
