Payment Policy

A quick note from Rodney before the legal stuff. I built Aromatick to be the most transparent fragrance shop online, and that includes how you pay. This page covers what we accept, when your card gets charged, what happens if something goes wrong, and how I handle fraud screening on higher-value orders. If anything below is not clear, email me at support@aromatick.com and I will fix it.

1. Accepted Payment Methods

We accept the following at checkout:

  • Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, and JCB
  • Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay
  • PayPal
  • Shop Pay Installments (4 interest-free payments on eligible orders, subject to Affirm approval)

All transactions are processed in U.S. Dollars (USD). If your card is denominated in another currency, your bank handles the conversion at their posted rate. Aromatick does not set or control foreign exchange rates or international card fees.

2. Payment Security

Aromatick.com runs on Shopify and uses Shopify Payments along with approved third-party gateways (PayPal, Shop Pay Installments) to handle every transaction. We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or banking information on our servers. All payment data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard SSL/TLS and processed through PCI-DSS compliant providers.

3. When Your Card Is Charged

Your card is authorized for the full purchase amount the moment you complete checkout. The actual charge is captured when your order is fulfilled, which is typically within 1 to 3 business days. If your order is canceled before fulfillment, the authorization is released. Depending on your bank, a pending charge may take up to 7 business days to fall off your statement.

4. Sales Tax

Florida residents are charged applicable Florida state and local sales tax at checkout. Tax for orders shipped outside Florida is calculated based on the destination state's nexus rules and current Shopify tax tables. The exact tax owed is displayed before you complete checkout, never after.

5. Order Verification and Fraud Screening

Authentic fragrance is a high-fraud category online. Protecting real customers from chargeback fallout means I take screening seriously. Every order runs through automated fraud screening, and some orders trigger manual review. That usually means first-time buyers placing orders over $200, billing and shipping address mismatches, or other risk signals flagged by the system.

If your order is flagged, you will get an email from support@aromatick.com asking for one of the following:

  • A photo of your ID matching the billing name on the card
  • A short reply confirming the order from the email address used at checkout
  • A screenshot of the order confirmation from your inbox

I will never ask for your full card number, CVV, social security number, banking password, or two-factor authentication codes. If anyone claiming to be from Aromatick asks for those, it is not us. Forward the message to support@aromatick.com and we will investigate.

If verification cannot be completed within 5 business days, the order is canceled and any authorization is released.

6. Declined or Failed Payments

If your card is declined at checkout, the most common reasons are:

  • Billing address does not match what is on file with your card issuer
  • Insufficient funds or available credit
  • Expired card or incorrect CVV
  • Your bank flagged the transaction as suspicious, which is common for first-time fragrance purchases

If you keep getting declined and you know the card is good, call the number on the back of your card and ask your bank to whitelist a transaction from "Aromatick" or "Shopify." That fixes about 90% of declines on the spot. After your bank lifts the block, return to checkout and try again.

Aromatick does not see why a card was declined beyond a generic decline code. If you need a specific reason, you have to ask your card issuer directly.

7. Pricing Accuracy and Errors

Aromatick lists hundreds of fragrances and pricing is updated regularly to reflect supplier cost changes, promotions, and stock movement. In rare cases a product may be listed with an incorrect price due to a system error. If your order contains an item priced obviously below cost, for example a $200 bottle listed at $20, Aromatick reserves the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund before fulfillment. You will be notified by email and given the option to repurchase at the corrected price.

Posted prices are subject to change without notice. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay for that order.

8. Buy Now, Pay Later (Shop Pay Installments)

Eligible orders between $50 and $17,500 can be split into 4 interest-free payments through Shop Pay Installments, which is powered by Affirm. Approval, eligibility, and installment terms are determined by Affirm and are independent of Aromatick. For payment schedule questions or installment disputes, contact Affirm directly through your Shop app account. Aromatick does not control approval decisions, modify installment terms, or process installment payments.

If you return an order paid through Shop Pay Installments, the refund is issued to Affirm and applied to your remaining balance. Any payments already made are refunded to your original payment method per Affirm's refund timeline.

9. Chargebacks

If you have an issue with an order, the fastest fix is to email support@aromatick.com. I read every email personally and most issues are resolved within 24 hours.

Filing a chargeback before contacting Aromatick almost always slows things down. A chargeback locks the order in dispute with the payment processor for 30 to 90 days and prevents me from issuing a refund directly while the dispute is open. If you file a chargeback and the order was delivered as described, Aromatick will provide tracking, delivery photos, customs documentation, and full order records to the payment processor and contest the dispute.

10. Refunds

For refund eligibility, return windows, and how to request a refund, see the Refund Policy. Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout. We do not refund to a different card, account, or store credit unless the original method is closed and verification is provided.
