Zimaya Itqan Noir is the cleaner, more Western-leaning entry in the Itqan line. Where Itqan Gold is saffron-heavy and clearly Arabic in character, the Noir opens on bergamot with a fresh, almost European sensibility before the orange blossom heart reveals the Zimaya DNA underneath. The name is accurate — this is a darker, more restrained composition than most of the Afnan catalog.
The bergamot opening is confident and dry rather than sweet. There's a slight woody quality in the top that keeps it from reading as purely citrus. Orange blossom in the heart is the note that defines this fragrance's character — it's floral but not feminine, aromatic rather than decorative.
