Spicebomb Dark Leather

TLDR - very pepper forward that fades into a tobacco leather fragrance but never strays far from the initial pepper note. It’s confident, dominating, and demands attention with two sprays that last well over 12 hours. If you’re timid and shy this probably isn’t for you.First the bottle is beautiful and has quite a bit of weight to it with the stunning grenade design and the “pin” clip to replace a cap works perfectly at preventing any leaks. This isn’t a bottle that’s going to drip on your clothes while traveling.On my body chemistry (because everyone is different and therefore different notes of the same fragrance stand out more distinctly) this fragrance is very pepper forward. The pepper smell dominates for at least an hour and even when that top note fades I do get a barely there sweetness from the cinnamon, a floral element from the frankincense, and a warmth from tobacco and nutmeg.- When it’s totally dried down and lived in it smells like a peppery tobacco fragrance with the smallest whisper of sweet.- the throw of this fragrance covers a wide range and the initial power of the cologne is intense. This isn’t a fragrance you could discretely use in a public bathroom or in the car or in your office because you forgot to put some on earlier. It is powerful and the smell will linger in the air for hours and people will definitely take note.- You will definitely get your money’s worth with this cologne, two sprays is plenty and it will last all night and into the next morning. It is worth every penny.As a woman who enjoys fragrances for men and women I sprayed this on my left arm to test the longevity one spray near the forearm and one closer to the shoulder both on and off of fabric at 8am. By midnight I had female friends excitedly asking if I was seeing someone new and asking what he was like. This stuff lasts forever. It smells like a man in charge.

I find it hard to welcome this new fragrance as an addition to the Spicebomb line.I've been a big fan of the original and Extreme for a long time now, and usually I appreciate a new Spicebomb flanker, if it's done right.Dark Leather is not a great choice for this lineup, in my honest opinion. At first application, you do get a bit of the spicy black pepper kick that is the hallmark of this line, but it lasts for just a few minutes. Then, you're left with a fairly weak leather note and a bit of faint sweetness mixed with a bit of tobacco.This fragrance is not really "dark" by any means; to me, it smells brighter and less complex than anything else in the line, and I can't recommend it even as a leather-dominant fragrance because the performance is so poor for a major release from a designer brand.I'll still check out any new Spicebomb flankers that V&R puts out, just because of my love for the original, but this one is simply an easy pass.

The Spicebomb DNA is quiet with this one All I get is leather plus background, but the scent itself is pretty great.Right out of the packaging, sillage and projection are weak, and it's hard to tell you even have it on at first, BUT... If you let it macerate 6 months, it gets much stronger. Longevity went from abysmal (about 2 hours) to decent (about 4-6).This isn't going to dominate a room like Spicebomb extreme, and it it doesn't have the magnetic dry down as the original.If you want something safe that's a little darker and more mysterious than the boring fresh/blue ambroxan-heavy fragrances that are popular in the West, then this is a great pick.

The presentation of this cologne is nice, it even has a pin you pull like an actual grenade. The smell resembles close to one I've smelt at bath and body works. it's a very pleasant smell, but not really to my taste. it feels too musky and I prefer more wooded smells.

The name is a perfect description of the scent. Scents are subjective and while this was not quite my favorite scent, I imagine it will suite plenty of men just fine. It is elegant and woodsy, and the scent lasts plenty long without being overpowering. The container is very cool looking. It is expensive but in line with their other scents.

I love how everyone is defining themselves in the reviews so I will continue that, I am a female reviewing this, I did not wear this, this was for someone else.I personally would like if a man smelled like this. The person I bought this for said that it lasts a good amount of time. The bottle design is really nice. It gives vibes you get when you go to a shoe store mixed with some other notes, I like it.

This cologne, more so than any I've used before, changes from first spray to lasting scent. When I first applied it I was overwhelmed and was certain it was going to be too strong of a scent for me. So in that sense it does live up to being a "bomb".However, it relatively quickly settles into a nice background scent which does live up to "wood & spicy". I'm not good at categorizing scents but it is a more complicated version of something like a sandalwood barbershop-ish scent. It is definitely a scent that hues towards masculine.

Frankly, I rarely wear cologne, aftershave, etc., but i saw this as a Vine offering, and thought I'd give it a try, especially since, like other consumable items, (vitamins, supplements, certain personal care items,) there was no "market value" attached, so there was absolutely no disincentive to try it.I looked up the brand, Viktor & Rolf, because I was completely unfamiliar, and this is an upscale Dutch company, that makes pricey men's fragrances.The scent is a mix of leather, incense, spice, (I don't really get the "black pepper," but mix of spices,) and it's smells really good. I like it, and one spray on the palm of my hands, then rubbed on my neck, behind my ears, and whatever else left over, on my chest, does the trick.I put some on, and asked several female friends what they thought, and the opinions were all very positive.Now, at $140, this is some expensive fragrance, at least in my book, but the company is well-known and top shelf stuff, so whether as a gift to your guy, and a treat for yourself, the purchase is up to you, your tastes, and your budget. A bottle will last a long time.

Right outta da box, the spray top fell completely off. Found that to be quite odd for such an expensive product. Additionally, the so called 'loyalty-special edition-double secret probation' QR coded program? Yeah. No. V&R put a halt to that for this scent months ago.I scanned in from the box my code and there is a lengthy apology that I didn't honestly care to process. The scent is rich and earthy. Not delicate by any means. I don't know how it tastes. I'll ask her to french my neck sometime after a coupla spray pumps and get back to ya!

When reading cologne reviews, I generally find that the most important factor is knowing what kind of person is writing the review, so let me describe myself as a cologne wearer. I want to smell myself. And I only want you to smell me if you're within 1-2 feet. You should smell me as I pass in the hall and you shouldn't smell me when I've left a room.That said, I found that this cologne has solid longevity. I noticed the scent for at least 8 hours, though it was subtle once my nose adapted. Individual preferences vary, but this has a strong masculine scent - very much in the bourbon/oak/leather vein. I had good results with a single spray, there's no need to machine gun this stuff all over your body - though if you're trying to flag down potential mates in a busy club, I imagine that approach would work.

V&R Spicebmb dark with notes of: spicy black pepper, nutmeg, smokey incense and cinnamon. On first spritz I really wasn’t sure if I was going to like this. It smelled very sterile like cleaning products to me, but about a minute or 2 later as it starts to settle in I really smell all those notes. After about 5 minutes it has that incensey/woody aroma to it. Definitely a unique choice for any man. The bottle is fun, I do wish they would’ve put a metal charm instead of plastic around the neck tho. Feels cheap.

This is so good. lasts forever on my husband. It's a warm, dark and spicy scent. Very masculine. The packaging and bottle are nice and good quality as well.

This is a nice flanker to the original Spicebomb . I get a lot of pepper, leather, and spices. With notes like those, you would think this would be a heavy hitter, in your face. However, this is a surprisingly lighter fragrance. The projection is more intimate. The lasting power is around 5-6 hours. This has no sweetness, so if you line your cologne with a hint of sweetness, I would probably pass on this one.

Honestly, I was just taking a chance on this Viktor&Rolf cologne but, I'm so glad that I did it. My wife and I both love this scent and I love the bottle too. Just pull the grenade pin, just a couple pumps and you are ready to hit the road. It doesn't take much so, don't soak yourself with it. My wife loves the leather and spice scent and that is the most important aspect of any cologne for me! It an A+ rating from both of us. This would be an excellent gift, for the man in your life.
