Island Vanilla Dunes Decant
Not sure which size? Start with 10ml — enough for 10–15 full wears to know if you love it before buying the bottle.
Top: Bourbon Vanilla · Cinnamon · Cardamom · Bergamot
Heart: Orange Blossom · Guaiac Wood
Base: Praline · Amber · Musk
Bourbon vanilla, cinnamon, orange blossom, and a smoky guaiac wood base that gives it more depth than a typical vanilla fragrance. It opens warm and sweet, then the wood comes in and takes it somewhere more interesting. Khadlaj retails it at $90 Extrait de Parfum.
Critical: macerate the decant for four to eight weeks before your first wear. Fresh-bottle reads too sharp and synthetic. Post-maceration is a completely different — and much better — composition.
Fall and winter only. Evenings. Masculine-leaning. Seven to eight hours on skin, days on fabric. Two to three sprays. Do not judge from a fresh bottle.

Longevity, skin chemistry, the collector's take, and how we authenticate.
Bourbon vanilla, cinnamon, guaiac wood, praline, and amber. Khadlaj's 2025 answer to Parfums de Marly Althaïr — warmer, creamier, and built on bourbon vanilla rather than plain vanillin. The community verdict after side-by-side comparison: "better than Liquid Brun; pure magic after maceration."
Top: Bourbon Vanilla · Cinnamon · Cardamom · Bergamot

🍮 Effervescent cinnamon and creamy vanilla that sparks in the air — "root beer vanilla float melting over dark smoked wood" — the opening earns the comparison every time
🪵 Guaiac wood heart redirects this from straightforward vanilla-amber into something with genuine smoky depth — the note that separates Vanilla Dunes from every other Althaïr alternative
🍂 Fall and winter exclusively — 7–8 hrs on skin, days on fabric — strong projection first 2–3 hrs settling to warm pillowy skin comfort
⚠️ Mandatory maceration 4–8 weeks — fresh bottle reads synthetic; post-maceration is a completely different composition — decant before you commit to the bottle
This is the cold-weather gourmand for the collector who keeps hearing "Althaïr is worth every penny" and wants to find out whether Khadlaj's version earns the same verdict at a fraction of the price.
