1 Million Gold Decant
The 1 Million for collectors who outgrew it. Quentin Bisch took the gold bar DNA and built something quieter — mandarin, cinnamon, akigalawood, sandalwood. Santal 33 energy at designer pricing. Office appropriate. Smooth. The one the original's fans buy when they need something they can actually wear every day.

Not sure which size? Start with 5ml — enough for 10–15 full wears to know if you love it before buying the bottle.
Top: Mandarin Orange · Pink Pepper · Cardamom
Heart: Cinnamon · Akigalawood® · Sandalwood
Base: Cedarwood · Vetiver · Amber
Mandarin, cinnamon, sandalwood, and cedarwood — warm, woody, and spiced with none of the original 1 Million's loud sweetness. If the original felt too youthful or sugary, this is what the house DNA looks like grown up. Paco Rabanne retails it at $185.
The decant is a safe first step before a bottle of a composition this different from the original name it carries.
Fall through spring. Office and casual. Masculine-leaning. Seven to nine hours. Two to three sprays.

Longevity, skin chemistry, the collector's take, and how we authenticate.
Million Gold is the 2024 entry in the Rabanne Million lineup and the composition that most clearly signals the house's evolution beyond the sweet-spicy-fruity territory that defined the 1 Million line since 2008. Quentin Bisch — who also created 1 Million Royal (2023) and co-created 1 Million Parfum (2020) — was given a brief that departed significantly from the original: not sweeter, not louder, not more citrusy, but woodier, drier, and more architecturally sophisticated. The result is a composition that earns "completely different from the original — better, more mature" from collectors who expected a louder version of what they already owned and found something meaningfully different instead.
The Santal 33 comparison that the Parfumo community generated is technically accurate and practically useful. Le Labo's Santal 33 — the composition that defined the woody-aromatic luxury-casual genre of the 2010s — operates in a similar register: sandalwood, cedarwood, spice, a slightly smoky-dry character, and a warm-woody depth that earns both "gender-neutral" and "effortlessly sophisticated" as consistent descriptors. Million Gold is not a Santal 33 clone, and the Parfumo reviewer who made the comparison was careful to note "it's no clone, as it does its own thing" — but the architectural DNA is recognizably related. For collectors who love Santal 33 but find its price point challenging, Million Gold's accessibility at gray-market pricing makes the comparison directly relevant.
The "1 Million DNA hiding quietly in the background" observation from the Parfumo reviewer is the most accurate description of how Million Gold relates to the broader lineup. The house's characteristic warmth and spiced-amber character are present but subdued — the composition's citrus-spice opening is recognizably related to the original, but the akigalawood-sandalwood heart takes it in a direction the original EDT never approached. Akigalawood® — Givaudan's proprietary patchouli derivative with a clean, woody, slightly bitter, earthy quality distinct from raw patchouli — is the note that most clearly earns the "different character" assessment and places Million Gold in a more mature register than any previous entry in the line.
The performance is the one area where community expectations may need calibration. Million Gold is not a beast-mode projector. At 5 sprays, longevity runs 7–9 hours; projection holds "about an arm's length for 30 minutes to an hour before turning into a skin scent" from the Parfumo reviewer who tested the specifics. Relative to the original 1 Million EDT's notorious projection and the Elixir's heavy sweetness, Million Gold is restrained and intimate — qualities that earn "more mature" and "more versatile" as consistent descriptions and that make it the Million lineup's most office-appropriate entry at normal application.

Top Notes (0–20 min)
Mandarin Orange · Pink Pepper · Cardamom
The opening is the composition's most immediately distinctive chapter and the clearest statement of its difference from the original EDT. Mandarin orange is bright, slightly sweet, slightly balsamic — "more citrusy than you might anticipate but really excellent especially once it dries down" from the Fragrantica reviewer who tracked the opening specifically. Pink pepper adds dry, slightly floral spice; cardamom contributes warm, slightly eucalyptic aromatic spice. Together they create a warm-citrusy-spiced opening that is recognizably related to the Million family while signaling a different destination.
Heart Notes (20 min–2 hrs)
Cinnamon · Akigalawood® · Sandalwood
The composition's defining chapter. Cinnamon provides warm, dry spice that connects to the 1 Million family DNA; akigalawood contributes a clean, woody, earthy-bitter patchouli derivative quality that earns the "Santal 33 DNA" comparison; sandalwood adds creamy, slightly milky warmth. The combination creates "woody/warm spicy" as its primary character — "I smell no One Million DNA here, rather Puig creating its own competition in-house" from the Parfumo reviewer who found the departure from the original DNA the composition's most interesting quality.
Base Notes (2 hrs through 7–9 hrs)
Cedarwood · Vetiver · Amber
The base is clean, dry, and woody — the most restrained base in the 1 Million lineup. Cedar provides clean, dry woody depth; vetiver adds earthy, slightly smoky coolness; amber contributes warm, slightly sweet resonance. The combination earns "lasts a few days on clothes" from the Parfumo reviewer who tracked fabric longevity specifically, placing Million Gold's fabric persistence above its skin performance in a ratio typical of quieter, drier compositions.
What it smells like on skin:
The mandarin-cardamom-pink pepper opening is immediately bright and warmly spiced — more mature in character than the original EDT's aggressive blood mandarin blast, with a smoothness that earns "the blending is impeccable" from the community. After 20 minutes the akigalawood-sandalwood heart reveals the composition's primary identity: woody, warm, clean, slightly earthy, genuinely sophisticated. The cedar-vetiver-amber base is the quietest chapter — intimate, skin-close, persistent. For collectors who find the original 1 Million too loud, Lucky too sweet, or Elixir too heavy, Million Gold is the lineup's most restrained and most versatile entry.
Performance & Wear Guide
- Longevity: 7–9 hours on skin. Fabric longevity notably stronger — "lasts a few days on clothes" documented consistently. Spray clothing for extended presence.
- Projection: Moderate — approximately arm's length for the first 30–60 minutes before becoming a skin-close scent. Not a room-filler. More intimate than any other entry in the 1 Million lineup.
- Sillage: Moderate. Creates a personal scent bubble rather than a public announcement. The collector who wants Million Gold to project like the original EDT will be disappointed — these are different compositions with different intentions.
- Season: Fall, winter, and cool spring. Year-round versatile at lower temperatures. More manageable in summer than the original due to the dry woody character rather than the sweet-citrus register.
- Occasion: Office, casual, and smart-casual. The lineup's most broadly occasion-appropriate entry. Evening wear. Date nights. The composition that works where the original EDT would overwhelm.
- Application: 3–5 sprays. Pulse points. The restrained projection means application can be slightly more generous than with the original EDT without risk of overwhelming.
- Gender read: Masculine with strong unisex potential. The woody-sandalwood character is broadly wearable across gender presentations in a way the original EDT is not.
Performance varies with skin chemistry and ambient temperature. Apply to pulse points.
